Sifteo at Maker Faire New York 2011

UPDATE: We’re located at booth 26, next to Science Friday and TinkerCad.
New York – Sifteo is coming your way next week!
First, I’m personally excited to attend the second annual Open Hardware Summit, an event that brings together independent hardware designers, artists, hackers, and generally awesome people in the world of hardware. There will be plenty of interesting discussions and exchanging of new ideas on the growing Open Source Hardware movement.
Second, Dave will be delivering a special presentation at the New York Game Conference on September 22 about the fusion of classic games with modern technology. This is a topic that encapsulates pretty much everything we’re about here at Sifteo, and we’ll be sharing it with numerous gaming and entertainment executives.
But perhaps what we’re anticipating most about our New York escapade is Maker Faire New York 2011, taking place at the New York Hall of Science between September 17 and 18. SCIENCE!
We love Maker Faire, and everything about the event inspires us at Sifteo. For those who have never been, Maker Faires are two day festivals of unbridled creativity and ingenuity, with several thousand inventors convening together to produce magic – and the occasional fiery explosion. And robots! Plus, it’s on a weekend, so there’ll be lots of kids and parents who will be able to stop by and see Sifteo cubes in action.
Our booth at this year’s Maker Faire NY will be replete with demos of the Sifteo cubes, some great new games we’ve yet to show the public (including LoopLoop), and a special Sifteo Developer Zone! Come learn how to use the SDK to make all kinds of apps and games!
If you stopped by our table at the last Maker Faire in May, or if you’ve attended our hackathon at SXSW 2011 last March, you’ll remember that we demo’d the Sifteo SDK Alpha to eager developers and designers. Since then, we’ve made some improvements to the SDK (not the least, porting it to C#). And as we inch closer to the SDK’s public availability later this month, this is your last chance to play with it before everyone else.
So if you plan on attending, we invite you to bring your laptop, pull up a chair, borrow some cubes, and build your first (and possibly the next best) Sifteo game.
See you in NEW YORK!
